STOP CBO vs ABO testing

and focus on improving your ads instead.

Back in the day, adding a text overlay to your stock photo or video in Facebook ads would bring in an amazing ROAS.

However, the media buy was a bit of a challenge.

It involved technicality, manual effort, and an underperforming algorithm.

This gave rise to growth and performance marketers, who are now experts in media buying, data analysis, tracking, and A/B testing.

Come 2020, Social Media emerged to democratize impactful video content.

As a result, you now have to deliver your ridiculously expensive
HK$200,000 branded 4K HD video advertisement because people already demand truly engaging and of high quality.

OK, so why can’t your media buyer or marketing team produce “successful UGC ads”?

Well, that’s because the landscape has changed very quickly.

The similar position that was available three years ago only required technical know-how and nothing else.
Coping with these new requisites is hard work; it involves handling intricate, messy, and complex processes.

Questions

  • It takes around 3-4 weeks to make each round of ads.

It takes roughly one week to research and write the script, one week to shoot the ad, and finally, one week to edit.

This could be delayed if casting the actor takes longer with particular requirements or if you require too many revisions (this timeline is based on one revision at the copywriting stage).

  • Process:

Step 1: We conduct an onboarding call to thoroughly understand your product and customers, aiming to know them as well as you. Then, we send you a shortlist of cast who align with your ideal customer profile for you to choose from.

Step 2: We research your brand by reviewing customer feedback, examining your competitors' ads, and analyzing customer reviews. This helps us to craft advertisements that effectively address your customers' pain points and desires.

Step 3: Review the scripts with you. Typically, only one revision is needed in the first one to two months; over time, our team will understand your brand and language and no longer need thorough reviews.

Step 4: It's time to film and edit with the script and cast ready. The finished product is dropped into a shared Google Drive, where you receive full ownership and access to all the raw assets.

Step 5: We evaluate what aspects of the ads were successful and which weren't. This informs our brainstorming session for the next month's content, after which we repeat the process starting from step 3.

    In terms of deliverables:

Static Ad: This image/photo ad is designed to blend organically with the feed or stand out with a bold design.

TikTok Trend Ad: If you're familiar with TikTok, you know that specific trends (or sounds) are commonly used and adapted to different niches. TikTok Trend ads take advantage of these popular organic trends, and we tailor them to your brand.

UGC Ad: User-Generated Content (UGC) ads are mini infomercials lasting 30-90 seconds. They feature cast(s) who endorses your brand engagingly and authentically without feeling overly sales-oriented.

  • We don't have a trial plan available.

However, if you're hesitant about committing to a plan, our "Starter" plan is an excellent choice. It allows you to use our services on a one-time basis.

  • If the outcomes of the advertisement are unsatisfactory, we will incorporate data and qualitative feedback from you and your customers to make adjustments and strategic shifts.

  • Brands used to spend HK$100-200K on a professional-looking 30-60seconds ad, but they performed terribly on Social Media. How the ad looks is essential, but we prioritize the performance of the ad (objective results) over how we like it (subjective opinion).

  • The effectiveness of your advertising campaign is primarily determined by the ad itself, rather than the audience you target or whether you use a CBO or ABO campaign strategy.

Our media buying services are exclusively available to clients who collaborate with us to create impactful ads.
